With our society!!
I felt like this is an issue that must be addressed..
I know the image of the 'perfect girl' is being discarded with our society. I mean, did we forget that in the ancient times, bigger girls were considered <i>better</i> because it meant that you have more wealth to eat? I mean, I know most of us dont like the way the modeling world is portraying that 'perfect girl' stereotype, or stringing it along for so long. In some ways, its not really the modeling worlds' fault. I'm not saying, that its on all of our backs. Its really all of us, Its our own faults for being so overwhelmed with our weight. We should stop looking at these 'perfect' models on magazine covers because, after all. They are AIRBRUSHED. Their arms arent that skinny.. Their legs arent that muscular, their eyes arent that blue, their hair isnt that blonde..their stomach isnt that flat. Its basically all a joke. Dont want to look like them, because you'll end up in a place you dont want to be. Depression. (I've always been a skinnier girl, sometimes teased for being so lanky,) so I know how it feels to want to look differently. I thought, 'maybe if I just had some more meat on my bones.. i wouldnt get teased' now I realize that wasnt the case. No matter how skinny you were, or how chubby.. you would always get teased. The Skinnier girls, for being 'skin and bones' and the Bigger girls, for being 'fat'.
I just want a message to be brought across. I want everyone to know; be YOURSELF. as long as everyone is being yourself, no one will get hurt by stupid words of kids, or their so called friends. If a good friend of yours hurts you, calls you a name because of your weight... just sit and think.. a. its their loss; b. if they're doing this hurtful thing to you.. maybe you werent that great friends to begin with; c. this will only make you stronger as a person.. If someone in school or at work is teasing you. Blow it off, just think. 'they're doing this because they want to make me feel lower as a person,' dont give them that satisfaction. Smile and walk away, like nothing is wrong. Be stronger and wiser. Think with your head, not your fists.
Skinnier girls are better. Bigger girls are better. THEY ARE EQUAL.
It doesnt matter if you're 20 pounds over weight. It doesnt matter if you're 20 pounds under weight.
I want everyone to know; that people should stop judging amazing people by the way they look. That is a stupid thing to do. Because you may never get to know how great of a friend you are missing out on. And just be comfortable in your own skin.. This I have to give a huge thanks to Tyra Banks, for giving girls all over the comfort to just say <i>"SO WHAT!?" </i>I think her movement will be going on for years and years to come! Be happy with yourself, be confident. Be happy, BE YOU! Skinny, Bigger- It just doesnt matter!
Thank you SO much for reading. lets help this message get across!!
